SUNNATS OF SALAAT
ELEVEN SUNNATS OF QIYAAM
- To stand upright at the time of takbeer-e-Tahreemah, i.e. the head should not be bent.
- To leave a gap of four fingers between the feet and to have the toes facing the Qiblah.
- The takbeer-e-Tahreemah of the Muqtadee should be said immediately after the Imaam's takbeer-e-Tahreemah.
- To raise the hands up to the ears while saying the takbeer-e-Tahreemah. (This Sunnat is confined to men only.)
- To have the palms facing the Qiblah.
- To keep the fingers in their normal position i.e. neither too open nor closed tightly together.
- To place the palm of the right hand over the back of the left hand.
- To grip the wrist by forming a ring with the thumb and little finger. (Males only)
- To place the middle 3 fingers over the forearm. (Males only)
- To place the hands below the navel.
- To read thanaa.
